27F, he was great on chat but went totally silent in person

For three weeks our texts were witty, deep, hours long. Met in person yesterday and he barely spoke, gave short answers, looked uncomfortable the whole time. I left thinking we had nothing, but then last night he texted saying he had a wonderful time and is really keen. So which is the real him, the warm texter or the silent stranger at the table? Do I give a second meeting a chance or trust what I felt in the room?
