Arranged Marriage
Dowry was hinted at from her side. How do I handle this?
Plot twist, it is the GIRLS side hinting at expectations, a fully furnished flat and a car before the wedding. Phrased as blessings for the couple of course.
My family is quiet about it but uncomfortable. I am dead against the whole thing on principle.
How do I shut this down without insulting them and tanking an otherwise good match? Or is this already a sign of what the family values?

The fact that it is the girls side does not make it less of a red flag. Entitlement is entitlement whichever direction.
Good matches survive a clear no to dowry. If this one collapses the moment you refuse, it was never the right one.
Hinting lets them deny it later. Make them say it plainly or drop it. Ambiguity is how these things creep back in.
Let the parents handle parents. Have your family state the no once, warmly, then see if the match survives honesty.
Respect for refusing on principle. How a family behaves around money before the wedding is who they are after it.
Blessings for the couple is just dowry with a bow on it. Name it calmly and watch if they walk it back or double down.
Stand your ground. A marriage that starts with a price tag rarely stops asking. Better an awkward no now than that.
Put it on principle, not budget. We are against the practice, not we cant afford it. That closes the negotiation door.
If a flat and a car are the opening ask, imagine the expectations after marriage. This is a values preview, read it.
Say it clean, we dont do gifts or expectations either way, we just want the two of them happy. Firm but not insulting.
